"When Foundations Are Destroyed" Message
summary:
Core design
patterns
established at
creation are
now perverted
by modern man
as the
foundations
are being
destroyed. Listen to our message on your audio player. "When
the
foundations
are being
destroyed,
what can the
righteous do?"
(Psalm 11:3). Yesterday
I (Stephen)
taught a
lesson in our
Adult Bible
Fellowship
class based on
the core
truths of
Genesis 2.
This chapter
teaches
humanity’s
God-given
purpose, the
sanctity of
rest, the
importance of
boundaries,
the value of
companionship,
and the divine
design of
marriage and
family. Foundationally, humans are created by God and placed in a prepared environment (the Garden of Eden) to work, steward creation, and live in covenantal relationship with God and each other. The
moral
foundations of
human life
based are
based on God's
original
design in
Genesis 2, His
law and the
entire
teachings of
the Bible. These core design elements were severely marred at the fall of man (Genesis 3) and we continue to live in a fallen world, although God has provided redemption through His Son Christ. Core design patterns established at creation are now perverted by modern man as "the foundations are being destroyed": 1)
The
God-ordained
gender binary,
“created
male and
female”,
to the demonic
notion of
“trans” and an
ever-increasing
list of
aberrations to
God's design.
2)
Marriage
exclusively
between one
man and one
woman to the
civil
redefinition
of marriage we
have seen in
our own
lifetime
3) The family unit as man and wife and children to all sorts of relations: cohabitation, normalcy of single parenthood, two mommies or daddies, throuples, etc. 4) The sanctity of life “be fruitful and multiply” to murdering children in and out of the womb and the general devaluing of life being sacred from womb to tomb. 5) Work and personal responsibility as God’s design to all sorts of excuses for not working, demand for entitlements, free this, free that, free everything. Psalm
11:3 is a
biblical
expression of
distress over
societal
collapse,
answered by
the assurance
that God
remains in
control and
upholds
justice. From
His vantage
point in the
heavens He can
examine the
chaotic human
events on the
earth and
render
righteous
judgments
aligned with
His overall
immediate and
eternal plan. The
remainder of
the Psalm
essentially
answers the
question, "The
Lord is in His
holy temple;
the Lord's
throne is in
heaven; His
eyes see, His
eyelids test
the children
of man"
(Psalm 11:4).
That most
certainly is
still true
today, some
3000 years
after David
wrote it. Rest
in that
blessed
assurance!
Be encouraged today, Hebrews 3:13. Stephen & Brooksyne Weber
