"A Pantry For The Soul" Message
summary:
Today let us
consider the
value of
storing up the
wise commands
of a loving
God. "Store
them up" in
your soul's
Scriptural
pantry so that
your spirit
overflows with
fruitful
produce year
round! The
pantry is
evidence of
the
cooperative
relationship
of God's
abundant
provision and
the human's
hard work and
diligence
preserved in
jars or by
other storage
methods such
as freezing,
drying,
storing in a
cool cellar,
etc. What a
great treat
for the
family,
especially in
the dead of
winter when
reminders of
the fresh
hearty summer
produce is
served at the
dinner table!
For many years
Brooksyne has
both canned
and prepared
food for
freezing,
probably best
known for her
jams,
especially
that which
contains
rhubarb. *
Store up "Thou
shalt not
steal" and it
will be a
powerful
deterrent to
stealing.
* Store up "Honor your father and your mother" and it will remind us of God's fundamental order in society. * Store up "Thou shalt not commit adultery" and we will guard our hearts and minds against assaults on our morals. * Store up "shalt thou labor" and we will fortify ourselves with the fundamental necessity of labor. Today
consider the
wise commands
of a loving
God. "Store
them up"
in your soul's
Scriptural
pantry so that
your spirit
overflows with
fruitful
produce year
round and
lifelong! Be encouraged today, Hebrews 3:13.

In fact he told us he eats it for lunch everyday, which would account for may jars of applesauce that Mary canned and later stored in her canned goods pantry. ![]() Here's a sampling of Brooksyne's canning. ![]() Yesterday
Ester and I
(Stephen) had
lunch together
at the
Speckled Hen
in Strasburg
and then
boarded a
train on the Strasburg
Railroad.
Here's the

the ride
before ours.

we got off we

they refilled

weekend
Brooksyne and
I plan to take
the Jim
Thorpe bike
train (a
train ride up
the Lehigh
Gorge and then
ride our bikes
25 miles back
to Jim
Thorpe). Then
we will head
to Steamtown
USA in
Scranton to
see the "Big
Boy" steam
engine.

today:
An
invitation to
local readers:
For quite some
time our choir
has been
working on 14
songs that
have been our
favorites,
whether
they're
worship songs
or choir
pieces such as
Psalm 24. As I
was reading
Psalm 24 this
in my
devotions I
saw how much
Scripture is
lifted for
this choir
number. Since
John Frey,
Choir Director
of Calvary
Church for 34
years, is
stepping down
we have extra
voices added
to our choir
for this
concert who
have sung
under his
direction over
the many years
he has led, so
it will be a
very large
choir and
orchestra. We
will be
recording for
a CD as well.
I hope you can
join us. If
you have any
questions call
or text
Brooksyne at

Possibly
my favorite
song is "One
Day" by Matt
and Beth
Redman and two
other writers;
it's an
adaptation of
"When We All
Get to
Heaven". Bring
your tissue
along if your
loved one is
with Christ
when you hear
this song!
"And
one day we'll
be free, free
indeed, Jesus,
One
day all the
struggle will
cease.
And
we will see
Your glory
revealed on
that day!
When
we all get to
heaven..."
