"Jesus
Is Still The Answer"
Message
summary: Jesus is still the answer to
mankind's problems. Can you imagine how different the
world would be if people would really commit themselves to
Jesus Christ and live according to His Word and will?
"Come unto me, all ye
that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest" (Matthew 11:28). "What must I do to be saved?”
(Acts 16:30).
Among our duties as chaplains to the marketplace is that we walk through the facility seeking to have brief conversations with the employees to demonstrate our interest in them and develop a friendship. (We have made and maintain many friendships though this ministry.) Of course we hope this leads to an expression of need and ideally in time an opportunity for witness. A part of our ministry is
grief care. Last week we received the notification that
the grandson of an employee was killed in a traffic
accident. Brooksyne went to the viewing Friday evening and
visited with the employee and her family. After
introducing herself to the great grandparents, who are
believers, they expressed their appreciation for her role
as chaplain at their daughter's company.
And we pass on that
appreciation to company owners who bear a burden for their
employees, by providing a neutral person for their staff
to speak to. Workplace chaplains aren’t connected to the
running of the business which often means that employees
are more comfortable confiding in them about personal
issues. It’s a way for them to be open and honest about
their concerns without worrying that it could affect their
role or reputation at work.
On the way home from the
viewing she got a call from an employee in another company
who told her she had came home from work that afternoon
and found her elderly father dead. Brooksyne prayed with
her and is providing additional followup as well.
Sometimes we have unexpected
opportunities for a witness in the workplace. I visited a
company and a man invited me into his office and asked me
to have a seat. I could tell there was something on his
heart. He began our conversation by saying, "Now I may not
be the smartest man but I’m not the dumbest either". He
went on to tell me that he had seen a sign on the road in
rural Lancaster County that stated, "Jesus Is The Answer"
and he admitted that he had no idea what that meant.
"Jesus is the answer to what?” he earnestly asked.
That gave me an opportunity to explain what the owner of the sign was seeking to communicate, that Jesus is the answer to mankind’s problems. These witness signs are very common in our part of Pennsylvania and I am sure the one posting it would be pleased to hear that it prompted this question! One question the phrase
responds well to is the timeless question of the
Philippian jailer who asked, "What must I do to be
saved?” The apostolic answer to this question will
always be, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be
saved—you and your household" (Acts 16:31).
A popular song from the 1970’s had a line, "Jesus is the answer for the world today". Can you imagine how different the world would be if people would really commit themselves to Jesus Christ and live according to His Word? That would be the answer to this world’s problems as well as the answer to the scores of individual problems we all face. "Jesus is the answer" has been the message of our ministry since we married in 1976. We want to share the call of our Lord Jesus to this fallen world: "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". Jesus is calling us all to come unto Him. He is the true and only source of rest, of peace, of love and of acceptance. He loves you this day and every day. However you’re seeking to fill that void, turn to Him. He continues to beckon the human race, "Come unto Me". Through the great commission this call is for all of us to proclaim, "Come To Jesus". Jesus is still the Answer! Jesus is still the answer
And though time and ages rolls Jesus is still the answer He's the answer for your soul And though some may say
He doesn't fit
With their philosophy I know Jesus is still the answer He's always been And always will be Be
encouraged today, (Hebrews 3:13)

Daily
prayer: Father, You provide the
answers to life’s questions about
everything that concerns us, and most
importantly in answer to life’s
greatest question, "What must I do to
be saved?" You sent Your Son to be our
Savior who would die for our sins so
that we might be forgiven and receive
an abundant life here on earth and an
eternal life in heaven. We are
learning to trust in You with all our
hearts and not rely on our own
understanding. We want to acknowledge
You in all areas of our life so that
we will seek You and the counsel in
Your Holy Word for the answers to
life’s questions. Jesus truly is the
answer for the world today, for He is
the Way, the Truth and the Life, now
and forevermore. Amen.

Jesus is the answer, for the world today. Above Him there’s no other, Jesus is the way. Jesus is the answer, for the world today. Above Him there’s no other, Jesus is the way. If you have some questions, in the corners of your mind. Traces of discouragement, and peace you cannot find. Reflections of your past, seem to face you ev’ryday. But this one thing I do know, Jesus is the way. "All Creatures Of Our
God and King/Be Enthroned" Video Medley from
our Calvary
Church worship
service yesterday with the choir and
orchestra.
Yesterday I saw the
Morrisons who at 95 and 93 still
drive themselves to church on
Sundays. They are the parents of our
friend, Tim, whom we see at one of
our companies. Tim is a great
encourager and his dad is as well.
Yesterday I told him to "Have a good
day" and he responded, "Everyday is
a good day!"
I, Brooksyne, was walking
the dogs last evening and ran into
traffic on our rural road. Our sweet
neighbor was taking her nieces and
sister-in-law for a ride on her golf
cart. They were headed to the trail
across the road from our house. We
have four neighbors who own golf
carts and frequent the trail which
are a lot quieter than
four-wheelers!
Finally today:
We passed this most
unusual produce stand or I should
say, "Produce Car" (Car
Trunk Farmstand) in
Lebanon County. Inside the trunk of
the car was free Zucchini and they
were also selling homemade jams and
fresh peas.
This morning just before
posting the message I looked out and
saw the township mowing the strip
between the corn and road. I
considered the contrast with a video
I had watched like this of
Philadelphia: Streets of
Philadelphia, Kensington Avenue,
What happened today, Aug, 2021.
