This broken down rusting heap with just a little of the original paint reminds me the aging process for humans. But thank God, JESUS LIVES, as seen in the background and because He lives we live also for all eternity in a land where we will never grow old, PTL!

"Honoring God"

Message summary: "Those who honor me I will honor". This is a timeless Biblical principle that applies to individuals, families, churches and even nations.

Listen to this message on your audio player.

"For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened" (Romans 1:21). "Those who honor Me I will honor" (1 Samuel 2:30). “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created” (Revelation 4:11).

Today is a National Day of Prayer here in the United States. The godly remnant of true believers in this nation are called to pray. This morning I will be at a men's prayer gathering and this evening we plan to attend a county-wide NDP gathering.

We certainly believe in the importance of true believers in Christ in each country standing up for God and praying for their country. This encouragement goes out to believers in many different countries around the world so we are sensitive in writing for the spiritual edification of all true believers, regardless of where they live. I am unaware as to whether other countries have an official national day of prayer as we have here in America but it is a very important day here in the country where God has providentially ordained that we should live our lives here on this earth.

Our country is in deep trouble. Although we have an active remnant of true believers, the vast majority of our population gives little or no attention to God nor do they seek to honor Him. Many churches are more interested in social programs, entertainment and "tickling ears" than proclaiming the gospel and whole counsel of God. Evil is called good and good is called evil.

Our entertainment industry is a cesspool of immorality. God's standards of sexuality are mocked. Broken marriages and unstable homes abound. Violence fills the land. Now we have attempts to divide the races, something I believe was improving all through my lifetime up to the last ten or fifteen years. Our educational system has been very successful at breaking down the moral constraints.
Many parents have neglected to raise their children in the knowledge and fear of the Lord. Brooksyne and I see this brokenness first hand in many forms in our chaplain ministry.

I (Brooksyne) just experienced this in my chaplain visitation yesterday morning as I listened at length to a mother's broken heart. Not only has her daughter cut her out of her life but also her grandchildren. Such cruel loss has caused deep grief, even depression in this mother's life and it breaks my heart just listening to such  stories, and even more so as we approach the celebration of motherhood this Sunday.

The daily Scripture portion simply states, "Those who honor Me I will honor". This is a timeless Biblical principle that applies to individuals, families, churches and even nations. I want to honor God today and I call on each reader, wherever you live, to honor God. There's a promise that is worthy of much pondering which is a result of our honoring God. God will honor us! What an indescribable blessing it is to be honored by God!

Be encouraged today,

Stephen & Brooksyne Weber

Praying man Daily prayer: Father, I come to you today with praise and thanksgiving. I acknowledge Your supreme authority and that you indeed rule over the affairs of men. As one of Your true children I come to you today on the basis of Your saving work in my life. I confess my sin and the great sin of our land. Forgive me for the love I've had for this world when you so clearly called me out of this world and made me a citizen of heaven.

I confess that You alone are the one mediator between God and man and that salvation is found in no one but You, for there is no other Name under heaven given to men by which I can be saved. I honor You, by choosing to live a godly life, denying my fleshly inclinations, and influencing others for Your heavenly kingdom. Thank You for honoring me, even as I bring honor to Your name.

Father I pray that your Kingdom would come and Your will would be done, even as it is always done in heaven. The evil in this world is a constant reminder of the utter depravity of the human race You died for. Thank You that Your redemptive purpose goes on and even today thousands will turn to You and invite You to be their Savior.

I submit to Your Lordship this day and declare that indeed Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, now and forevermore. Amen.

National Day Of Prayer  The following suggested guide is from this site.

How to Pray for America (or any country for that matter!)

God is sovereign and nothing comes as a surprise to Him. Whether we face fluctuating economics, threats from abroad, unrest at home, or other troubling circumstances, our Heavenly Father is not caught unaware. Through prayer, we are able to tap into His wisdom, strength, protection, and peace. He stands ready to respond to our needs when we humbly ask for divine intervention in the affairs of men.

As we Pray for America whose pledge of allegiance recounts that we are “one nation under God,” and whose currency states that it is “in God we trust,” we want Americans to encounter the God who rules over their country. “He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals His thoughts to man, He who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth—the LORD God Almighty is His name.” — Amos 4:13 NIV

He is the One who gave us this promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” As we humbly and diligently seek Him, we’ll be changed, and we’ll see transformation in America through prayer!

HOW TO PRAY FOR AMERICA - BY PRAYING INTO SEVEN CENTERS OF INFLUENCE IN OUR NATION

GOVERNMENT

Pray for your leaders, as well as the judges in our courts. Ask God to grant them wisdom to act with integrity. (I Kings 3:28; I Timothy 2:1-2; Exodus 18:21; Proverbs 11:3; Romans 13:1-2)

For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:3-6)

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” (Colossians 2:6-8)

We want to thank all who financially support our ministry. We realize there are many fine ministries and causes requesting support but if the Lord would lead you we surely need and appreciate the financial support from our readers and listeners. Our ministry labor is comprised of approximately half our time to Daily Encouragement and the other half to our chaplaincy ministry to companies for which we receive compensation. Each of these ministries essentially is the same as a part-time job (20+ hours weekly) for each of us. Our goal for many years is that each would provide half of our ministry expenses and income.

If you would consider making a donation to our ministry see here for more information.
