"Grace To Help" "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). Today is a "National Day of Prayer" here in the USA. I am aware that this encouragement goes out to believers in many different countries all around the world. I am sensitive that, as much as it is possible, that it is written for the spiritual edification of all true believers, regardless of where they live. I am not aware if other countries have official national days of prayer as we have here in America. Today I have a very busy day. This morning I joined in a prayer walk at 6:00 followed by a prayer service in my own community of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. At 11:00 I will be leading in prayer for our county officials at the Court House in downtown Lancaster. This evening we have a large rally in a Lancaster city park with Max Lucado as speaker and Alvin Slaughter leading music. America is in deep trouble. Although we have an active remnant of true believers, so many give little thought or no attention to God. So much of our entertainment industry is a cesspool of immorality. Broken marriages and shattered homes abound. Violence fills our land. Brooksyne and I see this brokenness first hand in our face to face ministry and through so many responses to this online ministry. I believe one of the greatest evidences of this trouble is spiritual blindness. The theme for this year is based on the daily verse. I usually apply this verse in an individual sense or perhaps for believers in a local church. I believe that is the primary sense. However as I ponder and apply it to the theme of praying for a nation I find such richness and meaning. America sure needs God's mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. I am sure this is true for any believer reading this regardless of what country you live in. Keep on praying and staying faithful! Be encouraged today, Stephen C. Weber Note from Brooksyne: As I read today's encouragement and think of the sin-filled world in which we live the life-changing Scripture comes to my mind, "But God…. who is rich in mercy…even when we were dead in sins, hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:4-6 KJV). It is such a wonderful Scripture of hope especially for the time we live in. In the preceding verses Paul describes the people, like ourselves, who walked in disobedience and depicts our nature as children of wrath. Praise God for the hope for all who hold citizenship in eternal heavenly place where the Light of the world dwells rather than in the temporary unstable world where the prince of darkness resides. Here is the website for the National Day of Prayer I mentioned two guests who will be here in Lancaster for a large rally this evening. Both have widely recognized ministries. For many, many years I have been blessed by the writings of Max Lucado, and have read most of his books. I have received inspiration from his story-telling writing style. I am not as familiar with Alvin Slaughter but here is his site with some sample music. |

I enjoy periodically
place audio
files on this site as a musical supplement to the daily message. I am
aware that these may not work on every computer system and I also get
confused by legal type issues and certainly want to do all things well.
Here's a separate
page concerning this.

that you keep the copyright and subscription information intact and
place a personal note above it. Please do not send it regularly to the

anyone can join if they desire! I specifically request that this
material not be forwarded to a group list, since many times these types
of unsolicited group forwards are unwanted and an annoyance. If you
received this but don't know how, it has probably been passed on to you
by a friend. You are not subscribed to this list unless your specific

I
sure appreciate the

However
due to the volume of email I receive I am not necessarily able to reply
personally to each one. I regret this since often readers will share a
particular need or have a specific question. I certainly do pray when I
receive a prayer request and often my wife Brooksyne joins me.
