<Previous Message Next Message> Wednesday, August 12, 2015 ![]() Steam engine at the Pioneer Tunnel mine in Ashland, PA "Forever!"
![]() "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8). "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued My faithfulness to you" (Jeremiah 31:3). The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine; But God, who called me here below, Will be forever mine. ![]() Forever stamps seem like an especially good value when the postal service announces a rate increase. Brooksyne often reminds me to buy some stamps since the value remain the same though future increases. After the rate increase they do seem like a real bargain! However the forever stamp will really not be valuable forever! In all due respect to the Postal Service and friends who work there they really can't make this claim. After all, kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall. Like currency in a failed nation so will the postage be. Furthermore God's Word declares that at some point this old earth is going to pass away. At some point a roll of Forever stamps will be worth nothing more than that of a child's sticker. Everything created on this side of heaven has an expiration date and will eventually wither like the grass and fade like a flower. Isaiah served God about 700 BC and was considered one of the greatest prophets. His words are quoted extensively in the New Testament, with Isaiah 40 being among the grandest writings in English literature. ![]() And indeed this beloved Word continues to be pondered, preached and practiced all over the world today, 2,700 years after Isaiah wrote and some 1950 years after Peter wrote. We can be absolutely assured of its timeless value. Jesus said "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away" (Luke 21:33). Should our Lord tarry in His return to earth we can be assured that fifty or five hundred or five thousand years from now His Word will remain and have eternally great value! Our second daily text assures us of another forever; God's love which is everlasting. We encourage you this day to place your trust in the One whose Word will never fade and His message will stand forever! Forever God is faithful,
Forever God is strong. Forever God is with us, Forever Be encouraged today, Stephen & Brooksyne Weber ![]() ![]() You know you are really in the country when you park next to a tractor at the local hardware store! ![]() On Monday at our visit to Knoebels amusement park the three older children didn't hesitate to get on the scariest rides. This ride takes you 148 feet straight up and then has a free fall coming down!
