I sure appreciate the input and read each comment and am so often encouraged.  However due to the volume of email I receive I am not necessarily able to reply personally to each one. I regret this since often readers will share a particular need or have a specific question. I certainly do pray when I receive a prayer request and often my wife Brooksyne joins me.

Some may be disappointed or even offended that I do not respond personally to their email message to me. I also regret that I can’t keep the “personal touch” in this regard, but I get a lot of emails and must prioritize how I handle responding to these emails. I also have a lot of other responsibilities apart from dealing with email!

1)    I get a lot of email that needs attention in regard to my work as a chaplain (my vocational “income–producing” job).

2)    I certainly try to respond to people with whom I have a personal relationship such as family and friends.

3)    I get many comments in regard to the daily encouragements I write, mostly from readers I’ve never met. Increasingly I am unable to reply to most of them due to time constraints. I read each comment and really appreciate the interest and encouragement. These reader comments come under a variety of categories.

A. Many just express appreciation on how an encouragement ministered to them and that’s great!

B. Others share a need for prayer and I will lift up the need to our Father and Brooksyne will often join me.

C. Others have questions about what I believe on particular issues. I am just unable to dialogue on these matters. I state clearly what I believe in regard to foundational doctrines on the info page. Regular readers will also over time get a sense of what I believe on secondary issues as well. However I don’t care or have time to get into the many theological squabbles over differences that earnest Christians have. I suggest you see your own pastor or other local believer regarding these questions. Also at times I sense some merely want to see if I agree with their view on a particular subject!

D. A few are upset about something I’ve written. Although I don’t try to purposefully offend, nevertheless some are inevitably offended. If you do not find my writings encouraging and uplifting easy “unsubscribe” directions are included with each email post.

E. Some have questions about technical issues and seek advice getting into web and email ministry. For a start see this page. There are many excellent resources for this and I encourage you to seek them out and use the web and email to share ministry.

F. I regularly get requests that I place a link on the Daily Encouragement site to other ministries or sites. I have decided not to do this as there would be so many links if I honored all requests that it would be time-consuming and practically meaningless due to the length of the list. If I was selective then I would offend those I didn’t include! There are already many excellent directories of Christian ministries and resources on the web and I don’t feel that’s my call.

Thanks again for your comments.
