"Proclaim His Salvation Day After Day"

"Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go for to You I lift up my soul" (Psalm 143:8). "Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim His salvation day after day" (1 Chronicles 16:23).
For many
years we've awakened to a very annoying alarm at 5 AM each morning.
There are times I've wanted to throw it across the room but that's not a good idea!
Several weeks ago Brooksyne made a major improvement by programming her phone so that we would awaken to a hymn tune rather than a pesty beep, beep, beep. It's made a major improvement in our attitudes during the first alert moments of the day. So much so that there have been times we've awakened before the alarm but wait for it to go off so we can hear the song.
It's the beautiful hymn, "He Looked Beyond My Fault" written by Dottie Rambo. The first verse which we awaken to is printed below:
What an uplifting perspective to begin our day! It's acappella arrangement by a group called Vocal Union which features a powerful team of voices lifting their voices in harmony as they sing the lyrics of this soul- stirring hymn. We often find ourselves worshiping God for His unfailing love and abundant grace even before our feet hit the floor. The only drawback is that we want to play the entire song and can find ourselves lingering instead of getting on with the many morning duties awaiting us.
Each day brings on new challenges and "unknowns". Those of us who follow the Lord rightly speak of wanting to be in the very center of God's will. There are certain issues of life in which we must seek the Lord's will and submit ourselves to His providential direction. At times we may seek counsel from others and sometimes His will is given progressively, one direction at a time. Such is the life of faith. When we are confronted with a number of valid choices we rightly ask, "Which way, Lord?" as we trust and depend upon Him to open the right door and close the wrong one, however confusing or disappointing that may sometimes be in the short term.
But there are so many areas of life where the will of God is absolutely clear to us. Today's verse is a portion of an ancient Psalm written by David over one million days ago. It tells us that we are to "Sing to the Lord." I am so thankful for the gift of music. Although I am certainly not gifted musically I can still sing out praises to the Lord, for He is always worthy and does not find my voice displeasing to His ears.
God has given each one of us a song today and we are called to sing it out to Him. Some of you, like me, aren't very comfortable singing when others are listening, but God asked for His song. It may be a song belted out or a song that you carry in your heart. It might be a tune that you whistle as you go about your daily duties. Whatever the circumstance, let us joyfully sing that song today!
David's ancient command to "Sing to the Lord" is directed to "all the earth", which surely includes you and me wherever we live. As we share these messages over the web each day it is such a joy to realize that whichever location you are reading this from, it applies to you!
We are to "proclaim His salvation day after day". Certainly there is an aspect that this proclaiming expresses an upward thanksgiving toward God for our salvation, but it is also a call to outward witness. The word for "proclaim" means "to announce". Today God continues to call His children to proclaim His salvation. The world may ignore, reject and even scorn the message but the call remains, "Proclaim His salvation day after day". Among many other duties, that's what I choose to do today and desire to do faithfully everyday.

Father, there are
so many believers You have gifted with the ability to write meaningful
words of praise and testimony that mirror the same expression I have in
my heart but am unable to put into words or musical script.
Though I've not been given this same talent thank you for giving me the
ability to sing these songs as they resonate from my heart. The
Psalmist David, the greatest poet of all time, proclaimed over and over
again the wonders of Your salvation. May we never tire of this
glorious life-changing theme as we sing about the marvelous miracle of
salvation day after day. We want to be faithful in sharing with others this Amen.
Brooksyne's flashback from the 60's: Dottie Rambo wrote the lyrics "He Looked Beyond My Fault" to the Irish tune best known as "Danny Boy" in 1968. As though it was yesterday I clearly remember standing around the piano, with other members of my youth group in Tulsa, as we practiced this song for our choir number. Upon hearing it the first time it moved my heart to tears as I considered and applied the rich lyrics. It still moves me to tears over 40 years later when I hear it. The inspiration of the Holy Spirit is surely evident in the lyrics of this song. There is no better description that I can think of to describe God's forgiveness toward me than "amazing". It will always be my song of praise - it was in my youthful years, in my adult years, my middle-age years and as I look ahead it will be my theme during my senior years, should the Lord tarry. Come to think of it, it will be my theme throughout my eternal years, and for all who follow Christ! Praise God, He looked beyond my fault, saw my need and met it! Considering all the things that I need to take care of, the most important need has already been met through Christ's selfless love upon the cross. Now that puts a smile on my face and plays a song in my heart!
