"Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God" (Psalm 90:2). The last several days we have been in Tennessee right on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Since we don't live near mountains we've really enjoyed the spectacular scenes we've viewed day after day. The Scripures allude to mountains and today's text is a great source of assurance to the believer living in this unstable world. A song comes to mind that declares in the chorus, "My God He was, my God He is, my God He's always gonna be." As we, through faith, ride out the tumultuous waves of life's ups and downs we need to regularly recall this absolute truth, "From everlasting to everlasting You are God." This truth is taught abundantly in the Scriptures. It expresses one of God's attributes or characteristics known as His "eternality". Theologically the eternality of God refers to His timeless nature; that God had no beginning and will have no end. This is one of the foundational beliefs of Christianity. Our God surpasses time as we define it here on earth. The eternal, almighty God has revealed Himself to us and sent His only begotten Son to pay the price for our redemption as fallen sinners. He alone is from everlasting to everlasting. Let's praise Him today and rest in His steadfast care, no matter the turbulence of life we face on this day or in future days! He is forever God!
My Savior loves, my Savior lives
My Savior's always there for me My God He was, my God He is My God He's always gonna be Be encouraged today, Stephen & Brooksyne Weber Daily prayer: Almighty God, all the universe declares Your glory who creates, sustains, and watches over Your creation. Though the earth will someday be destroyed You created within us a soul that will exist eternally. While the foundations are being destroyed here on earth we, the redeemed, find great comfort and immense hope in Your eternal foundation. It is from eternity past and will exist in eternity future, with no beginning and no end! Only a loving God like You would choose to include us in Your vast plan and find delight in us, in all our humanness. You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and praise in this life and for all eternity. Amen. Some More Scenes From Our Journey
My cousin Dub and his wife Joy at Cataract Falls in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Saturday evening the Weber family prepared a buffet style meal for the entire Steincross family. Brooksyne took along a frozen mix of Rhubarb Punch to mix with gingerale. It's always a hit, even with non-rhubarb eaters! We made friends with this "domesticated" bear. (Brooksyne was comfortable posing for this photo after she saw the foam cushion sticking out of the back of this imitation bear.) My sister, Genelle, took this photo of us beside the creek that surged behind our cabin. It was a beautiful setting for our morning coffee. Black bears frequent this mountain stream but they were recently captured and relocated, which was just fine with us. We enjoyed the good clean family humor at the "Comedy Barn" Yesterday we visited the Titanic Museum! The museum was huge, as you can see in the photo of Stephen and Ester standing in the front, but the original Titanic was the size of three city blocks. April 2012 will mark the hundredth year that the Titanic sank. We ate at a "Happy Days" restaurant in Pigeon Forge and this photo brought to mind a nickname I had in the seventies based on a character from this show. Anyone know who? Guess here. Today's Suggested Music and Supplemental Resources "Everlasting God" Video "My Savior, My God" Video Aaron Shust "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" Video Smoky Mountain Hymns "He Hideth My Soul" Video Smoky Mountain Hymns A nice video of Smoky Mountain scenes along with "Amazing Grace" and other hymns set to Smoky Mountain music. Watch in hi-def if possible! Downtown Gatlinburg has
many colorful and odd tourist attractions along the Main Street. When
we passed this character which appeared to be a wax-like dummy it startled us as it spoke out in a creepy voice, which I assumed was a recording. I turned around and noticed how realistic his hands were
so I took a second more scrutinizing look and realized it was a real
person! How would you like to stay in this position for 4 or 5
hours in 90+ heat?
