"Jesus Completely Saves!"

"Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him" (Hebrews 7:25).

I take my car to the mechanic because my brakes aren't working properly. Having your brakes work is a non-negotiable feature in safe driving. I explain to the mechanic my problem and ask him to repair the brakes. I go back later to pick up my car and the mechanic tells me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."  I would hardly consider my car repaired!

Our greatest need, one in which we all have, is our sin problem. Sin separates us from God. Religion cannot fix this problem, although it may very well "make the horn louder."  Religion offers many repairs but never completely fixes the problem.

The daily text is referring to the finished work of Jesus Christ on our behalf. It has brought hope and encouragement to so many through the ages of the Church.  Consider the power of each individual phrase.  Read them slowly and ponder their rich meanings; "He is able", "to save completely", "those who come to God through Him."

That's a great promise and today, on the authority of God's Word, when we have come to God through Christ, we can have an assurance our greatest problem is really fixed, for Jesus completely saves!

Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves,
He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves.
He’s the Master of the sea, billows His will obey,
He your Savior wants to be, be saved today.

Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!

Be encouraged today,

Stephen C. Weber

Brooksyne's prayer – Jesus, You are a loving Savior who paid in full the price for my salvation.  Because of Your sacrificial death on my behalf I experience complete forgiveness of sins.  It was not a partial act of mercy on your part leaving me to complete the process. Nor do You rate the depth of my sin, for You save the vilest offender who truly believes.  There are many who feel that their good works will grant them right standing with You in heaven, but You made it very clear that we make our hearts right with God by coming through You.  You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through You.  Thank You for giving me entrance into the Kingdom of God by Your completed work of salvation on my behalf.  In Your name, I praise You.  Amen.

Ester's first day of workToday is a big day for our daughter Ester. She is in a program to help her learn job skills and this was her first day of "work".  She is a volunteer at the Lancaster General Hospital.
